 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My dad recently stayed here for respite care while my mom recuperated from an injury.  Words cannot begin to express our appreciation to Carol, Joan, and the rest of the staff.    Carol and Joan went above and beyond to assist us in every way possible with the transition.  They had to work extra hours to make sure everything was in place in a timely fashion, including working with my Dad's nurse practitioner through palliative care, and with his primary care provider to get all of the medical orders needed. Although Dad can walk, he has other medical issues that required a lot of extra management by Joan.  She didn't just do her job, she truly cared about Dad getting the correct care he needed.  My husband and I have worked in the medical field for decades, and I can tell you that Joan is stellar!  Carol, too, truly cares about the residents and families.  She has given us much-appreciated advice, guidance, and help in every aspect of this process.  Plus, she's delightful!
During our tour of Anam we loved the easy, rectangle home layout to help keep my Dad from getting lost.   My mom was concerned about him not having a TV in his room.  And although the staff would allow an in-room TV, they discouraged it to stimulate more resident/staff interaction.  There were TVs in the living room areas so Dad was able to watch a movie with other residents or a western alone when he did want some down time. Our family was understandably concerned about how difficult the transition would be for Dad.  We expected a significant, but hopefully temporary, decline.  Instead, as a result of this encouraged socialization during meals and activities, Dad was talking more than he had in several months.  He also gained a few much-needed pounds from the excellent food!  He seemed to sleep better, too, because he wasn't spending the day in a recliner in front of a TV.  His positive response to Anam's environment speaks volumes.
The stay was definitely harder on my mom since she felt guilty for not being able to care for Dad, but seeing him content and well-cared for eased her guilt.  The whole situation gave our family such peace of mind knowing that Dad was receiving outstanding care now, and would have an excellent place in the future when he requires more care.
We are now in the process of getting him set up for day care twice weekly to give my Mom a much-needed break.   Carol and Joan are again working hard to get everything needed.  They are literally answers to prayer.
Before choosing Anam, we toured several facilities.  This is the one that stood out as clearly focused on memory care with an excellent understanding of the disease process.  The home environment is so much more appropriate than a typical long term nursing facility.  They also have caring staff members who treat the residents with fondness and respect.  I will always be grateful to Carol, Joan, and the rest of the staff for going above and beyond to help my dad and our family!  Anam gets the highest recommendations from us!

My parents were both residents of Anam Care and we couldn’t have been more pleased with their care, compassion, and love for them!  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I couldn’t disagree more with the review I just read on Anam. My wife has been a resident there for the past 3 1/2 years. Every employee there has treated her as if she was their relative. She is shown so much love, I can’t even begin to describe how that has affected my whole family. There is a fenced in patio area for the residents to sit, and frequently I sit there with my wife and other residents playing and singing songs. I am not sure what the other person expected, but as a person who frequently gets in other care facilities to play music, I have not experienced any as good as Anam!

She developed dementia at too young of an age, so transitioning to memory care was hard on everyone. The staff made it easier for all of us, including my mom. Their approach to individualized care and creating a real community, honors each resident. From celebrating holidays, birthdays, garden parties to simple gatherings on the secure outdoor patios, my mom found daily joy. Above all, the staff ensured my mom had a healthy quality of life and never felt isolated or alone. We are grateful every day for her care and love seeing how the Anam community lifts up their residents and their families.

After very diligently investigating all options, we chose Anam Care. It is a daunting task attempting to find the exact right conditions for our loved one. All of our anxieties were put to rest when we discovered the attentive staff, beautiful surroundings, and comfortable conditions that are offered at Anam Care. The inviting environment made us feel so welcomed as we made our daily visits. My sweet mother-in-law passed with the dignity that she deserved and is remembered every year in Anam Care's garden memorial service. There just isn't a better place!!!!

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We placed our cousin in this wonderful caring place.  Betty was there for 3 years.  Before covid they would.have family dinners, with entertainment. They were straight forward and up.front about everything.  Cost it was a little less.expencive then other places. The place.is.kept. immaculate and NO smell
The residents  have the ability to.walk.around, go outside in a closed area.  Great place. We were blessed to.find it.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This review is all my opinion: this place is scary and a place where people are left to die without any joy. It still gives me chills recalling this time involving Anam “Care”.

My grandpa was here for 5 months before we got in somewhere else and moved him out (thankfully!!) but this place was a nightmare for us. My grandpa said he was beat up by other residents: people would get into the wrong beds/rooms and get agitated. He lost significant weight and experienced severe cognitive decline rapidly at Anam. Both of these significantly improved after we MOVED HIM OUT (he still had dementia but at Anam he was way worse and clearly miserable). The staff would loose his hearing aids($$) and glasses or give him ones that belonged to a different resident because they were so disorganized which really decreased his quality of life. There is no fenced in outside area for residents to sit or be outside while in my opinion is just wrong: every other facility we went to had this.

They do have a lot of activities which is good to an extent but they force residents to stay awake all day and locked out of their rooms in the main pod. My grandpa had a degenerative brain condition and valued rest and alone/downtime too.

Go with what your gut is telling you when you visit this place. They will try everything in their power to prevent you from letting you move your loved one out once they have them.
